Nvidia AI Chip Demand Surges, Q2 Revenue Tops $96 Billion

Share:

Nvidia, the dominant force in artificial intelligence hardware, has reported a blowout second quarter for fiscal year 2027, with revenues soaring to $96.2 billion. This represents a remarkable 106% increase compared to the same period last year, underscoring the relentless demand for its AI-focused chips. Earnings per share also saw a substantial jump, reaching $2.22 on a non-GAAP basis, well above the consensus estimate of $2.09.

The company's Data Center segment, a key driver of its growth, posted record revenue of $89.0 billion, up 117% year-over-year. This surge is attributed to the robust performance of its latest AI infrastructure, including the ramp-up of its Blackwell Ultra products. CEO Jensen Huang declared that AI has reached an "inflection point," stating that "compute is revenue" and that demand is "accelerating."

Looking ahead, Nvidia has provided an optimistic forecast for the third quarter of fiscal year 2027, projecting revenues of approximately $108 billion. This guidance surpasses analyst expectations, indicating continued strong demand. Despite ongoing discussions about potential competition and in-house chip development by major tech players, Nvidia's latest results suggest its position at the forefront of the AI revolution remains firmly intact, with its chips continuing to power the next wave of AI innovation.
