AMC Achieves Highest Quarterly Revenue in 106-Year History

Share:

AMC Entertainment has achieved a historic milestone, reporting its highest quarterly revenue and Adjusted EBITDA in the company's 106-year existence for the second quarter of 2026. The cinema chain announced total revenues of $1.597 billion, marking a 14.2% increase year-over-year. Adjusted EBITDA soared by 70% to $321.4 million, demonstrating significant operational improvements.

This remarkable performance was driven by a robust box office environment, record attendance, and strong food and beverage sales across AMC's U. S. locations. The company also reported a positive swing in net cash from operating activities, turning to $235.4 million compared to a deficit in the same quarter last year. Free cash flow also saw a substantial increase, reaching $190.1 million.

The impressive results come as AMC continues its strategic efforts to strengthen its balance sheet and reduce debt. The company has successfully refinanced debt and raised equity, leading to a reduction in principal debt balances and a decrease in annual cash interest expenses. With no major debt maturities currently expected until 2029, AMC appears to be on more solid financial footing.

The positive momentum in the theatrical exhibition sector, bolstered by a strong film slate and increasing institutional confidence, is contributing to AMC's resurgence. This landmark quarter underscores the company's resilience and its ability to capitalize on a recovering market.
